As a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia's Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), Dana identifies as a cisgender, able-bodied, white woman of mixed European background. She was raised in Indonesia, Scotland, and Norway and moved to Canada in 2015 to study psychology and counselling. With gratitude, Dana acknowledges that she lives and works on the traditional, unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples - the səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and xʷməθkʷəy̓ əm (Musqueam) Nations.

Dana uses her empathetic and warm presence to enhance her connection with clients, to build rapport and trust, and ultimately to support the journey of healing, feeling connected to one’s community and achieving self-acceptance. Dana creates a non-judgemental and inclusive safe space for clients to share about their emotional pain and distress while using a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive and strengths-based approach. Her counselling style draws centrally from Feminist Therapy, Adlerian Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (CBT).

Dana has experience working with marginalized individuals including, but not limited to, people in the LGBTQ2S+ communities, immigrants, and neurodivergent individuals. Dana has worked with children, youth, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, attachment, and sexual and gender identity. She is passionate about the outdoors and expressive arts, and looks to incorporate this into her work with clients.

My name is Dana (she/her) and I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). I identify as a cisgender, able-bodied, white woman of mixed European background. I was raised in Indonesia, Scotland, and Norway and moved to Canada in 2015 to study psychology and counselling. With a masters degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University, I now live and work on the traditional, unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples - the səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and xʷməθkʷəy̓ əm (Musqueam) Nations.

My goal is to use my empathetic and warm presence to enhance my connection with clients, to build rapport and trust, and ultimately to support the journey of healing, feeling connected to oneself. To create a non-judgemental and inclusive safe space for clients to share about their emotional pain and distress, I use a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive and strengths-based approach. My counselling style draws centrally from Feminist Therapy, Adlerian Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (CBT).
